Seven Clans Casino

It wasn't a bad place given it's remote location. The restaurant, The Willows, was nice looking and the food looked great but the quality was unimpressive. Given that it's the nicest place in 40 miles to get a meal you really can't complain, but go knowing the shortfalls. Most of the food was under cooked (the wild rice wasn't finished, not split open and served cold, shrimp was under cooked, steak overcooked, pasta was tough) I'd say that with a few execution changes they'd be top notch, but they were understaffed and their chef was clearly working solo. But as mentioned, it looked great - it just tasted blah. Seems to be a lot of anti-native sentiment in town too. People expected you to eat at one of the dive places rather than go to this nice looking little casino - sad commentary on tourism in this remote outpost.

On our way to Canada we stopped at Theif River Falls. We were impressed so we decided to stop at Warroad as well. Solid little Casino. The place must be new because everything seemed relatively fresh. The food was good and the accommodations were perfect for a people that enjoy occasional gaming while exploring MN. Overall, it was a great place to stop while traveling through the area.

It has kind of a seedy atmosphere. If you are sensitive to smoke, this is not the place for you. If you are used to Vegas, you will be disappointed. If your goal is a few hours of gaming and usually a "donation" to the Native American tribal or college fund, this is the place for you!

Too many indians and too much cigarette smoke! Yuck!

Excellent place..
