We stayed for 2 nights. Blood stains on the pillow cases, bad food under-cooked food, too expensive, no toilet paper and no soap in the bathroom, hairs on the beds, I can keep going. The best part: we left on at 10:00am and there was no one awake to check us out. He had my number and called me so I could settle up. DO NOT STAY AT THIS LODGE. It's disappointing because it's under new ownership and has a lot of potential. Unfortunately, they are very incompetent.
I have been to BayView Lodge serveral times over the course of the summer. The food is always excellent and the service is wonderful. Although the cabins are rustic, they make a great place to lay your head after a long day/night at the Tiki Bar. If you are looking for a good time, this is definately the place to go! They have live music just about every night of the week and you will not be disappointed!!
Bay View Lodge appears to have potential (main building, restaurant, beautiful decks), and the lake is wonderful; however the atmosphere and accommodations were horrible (drunks everywhere, especially during the night when a group of them tried to get into our room because they could not find theirs), the cabin like living quarters were no more than shanties (no curtain in main living quarter, a negligee for a bathroom curtain, the door to the room would not shut, every movement was magnified, toilet was leveled with wood shims that maybe should have been used on the door frame). Hopefully the new ownership is planning on attracting a better crowd with much improved accommodations. We would have been more comfortable camping outside the room in a tent as it certainly would have been quieter and more private.
