Just had breakfast this weekend and it was perfect. we had a lighthouse café in Argentine MI that unfortunately closed and this is the spittin image, but probably better with their homemade bread. Get the breakfast special. Highly recommend.
Had breakfast here today. Best homemade rye bread I ever had. Meal was delicious and the service was fast and friendly. Ben going up to Port Austin since 1956 and this place has been around for as long as I can remember. I'm happy about that!
THE GOOD: Another gem of a breakfast place. If you're in town visiting the farmer's market during the summer months, make sure to get up early and slide on down to the Lighthouse Cafe for an awesome breakfast in a really great, tiny, cozy atmosphere. It's a very small restaurant with lots of friendly vibes going on. If you don't care to be in small spaces, get a take-out order instead, or stop on down to the Stock Pot Restaurant ... from my experience, they are both A-1. THE BAD: Can't think of any. FINAL WORD: I'd definitely recommend! Don't drive through Port Austin without stopping here. ~ Roger Dodger's Reviews :)
The food and service are very good. The fact that this restaurant is right next to Lake Huron in the thumb makes it even better. Personally I like a good breakfast in the morning and this place will not dissapoint. The owners, Carol and John are very friendly and do a good job of taking care of their customers. Get there!
If you are in the 'Thumb' and want the best breakffast around, this is the place to go. It's truly a family run business with great food. Say 'hi' to owners John and Carol and get the all you need to know about what to do in the Port Austin area.
