3&UP- Board Game Lounge
Reviews
Plymouth NEEDED this! The young people are running out of things to do and all Plymouth has are bars and shopping. Plus I spent less than $10 when I stayed for almost 3 hours--good for my poor college student budget. So fun though! Every time I go back I plan on trying out a new game because I know board games are becoming popular again and I wanna get in on that. It truly expands your horizons, especially if you don't consider yourself a gamer! Just ask someone who works there and they'll teach you a good one!
I thought this place was great! My 6yo son and I came in to try out some new games. We played Aggravation and then went looking for another one. My son found a Lego board game, where you have to build the board with Legos! He was so excited! So we spent the rest of the time building the board and playing that game. I was raised playing a lot of board and card games, so I love this concept. I don't like spending money on a bunch of games that the kids either don't like, or grow out of quickly and then I have to get rid of. This way we can try out games and if they really like it we can go buy that one game. My only issue is I'm in Farmington Hills and Plymouth isn't really convenient so we don't get to go there often. I hope they open another location closer to me soon!
My kids love 3&UP. It is a great place to spend time away from distractions. I constantly feel like I am battling with my 7 and 5 year old children to put down their tablets and stop asking for my phone! At 3&Up they are excited to play different games. My daughter loves the Disney Princess tea party game and my son has really become interested in Chess and Stratego. I am surprised at how much they have learned playing some of the games at 3&UP. It really takes me back to when I was a kid playing with my brother and friends. The game selection is huge and there really is something for everyone. I would totally recommend it as an alternative to other less interactive things to do with your kids (like sitting at the movies). It was only $5 a person too which is inexpensive compared to most other activities in this area. The kids also really liked the staff member Lauren, she had a lot of good suggestions for games and even played a round of Princess tea party with us. The inside is clean and we brought in our own pizza. My son wants to have a birthday party there so we will have to book that soon.
This place is amazing and just what we need. Unlike the stereotypical gaming store set in a basement and run by the Simpson's Comic Book Guy, this place is clean, accommodating, and fun. They have EVERY game from my childhood. The staff even helped our group to play some awesome newer games that I never would have played otherwise. Pandemic was a blast! It is bring your own food and beverage, so next time we go, we want to order a pizza and have a dinner and game night--so much fun and so many games to discover!
This place is great. I'm often trying to plan time to head up to this store. The staff is helpful and available, the games are in great condition and fun, and the cost is cheap. Especially considering the games on hand are those that can go up from $30
