Great meat and beer selection
We used to shop there all the time and preferred this store until one season while in line to pay for our goods. My father and myself having both worked in the food industry for a time (my father retired doing so) we were talking about the venison sausage that they had in the meat case and pondering if we should buy some at that price. We then both stated that the FDA would probably stop the sale should an inspector be on site because of the venison not being regulated. I didn't know @ the time but: The cashier overheard this and made her excuses to go back to the meat counter to tell the workers there to remove it. We went back there after all to purchase some and inquired about the sausage that was just there a moment ago. The butcher started screaming @ us that he DID NOT HAVE ANY VENISON SAUSAGE IN THE CASE & WE DON'T SELL THAT HERE. This was years ago and I haven't been back since. The Butcher/Meat counter employee has been back & forth between the grocery's in Hale. No one came forth to make it right while we were there. No one asked why he was screaming @ us. A place of business that treats customers like that is something that I don't miss. We don't even use the payphone there and haven't in years. Thank God for cell phones.
