Punkin Valley Restaurant & Motel
Reviews
You can sleep and eat on the cheap. The updated rooms are really nice and still less expensive then other places around the Mountain. I've been many times to the motel and have eaten at the restaurant just as much and been up on every season. I've had good service all around. This is a motel not a hotel, not a lodge not a condo or rental unit. The rooms are clean, the bed sheets are clean, they warm up nice in the winter and are cool in the summer, clean toilets and towels. Karaoke on the weekends and you can enjoy the Pat's and or Red Sox with other local fans, pool tables and video games to play in the game room. You can ride a snowmobile to Punkin Valley, it's minutes to a great lake to fish on and a nice ski and snowboard mountain that goes till 10. The family that owns it are friendly. I'm sure it's not easy to run a business and I feel they do a good job.
Wish there negative stars or something because that is what this place deserves. Dirty, disgusting, stinky, gross, grimy, ugly rooms agree with the girl from the cattle farm in Mass, she hit it right on. Big mistake staying here. We come to the area often to ski and in the summer to relax. There are so many much nicer places in the area. Just drive on by and do yourself a favor find somewhere else. The food while it wasn't as bad as the room was just so-so, bland and again much nicer places in town to eat. Yeah it's close to Shawnee Peak but still gross.
This review should be about the food
lol @ maholwag - Sure, the Punkin Valley motel isn't a five star Ritz Carlton, but it's certainly nothing to cry over! My fiancee and I stayed the night on a 2 day ski trip at Shawnee Peak, and everything was fine, especially considering how cheap the room was. I can't imagine finding another comparably priced room this close to the slopes! We spoke a little with a man I believe is the owner, and he said they have some rooms which are renovated and updated, and some rooms which are not. The updated rooms go for twice the rate of the older rooms, and since we were vacationing on the cheap, we opted for the inexpensive room. Our room's decor was old-school to be sure (think harvest gold and avacado green, heheh), but the room was clean, the beds were an okay place to crash for the night, and we had an nice hot shower in the morning. Bottom line, if you want to ski and stay on the cheap, give the Punkin Valley folks a try - we almost skipped over this place because of the bad reviews, but you really ought to check it out for yourself before you go dropping your cash on a high-dollar room elsewhere.
The inn was the most disgusting place I have ever been. Everything smelled of urine. I was terrified to touch anything, this coming from a girl who has no issues running barefoot through a cattle barn. Staying there made me so miserable, I was crying by the end of the night. Please, please, please go somewhere else, I promise it will be worth it.
