My husband and I were driving home from Virginia on a Sunday evening. We got off the interstate looking for a place we had been before, but they were closed. We stopped at the Hilltop Inn 20 minutes before they closed. Everyone was extremely nice despite it being closing time. My ham & cheese sandwich was good. My husband really liked his grilled chicken salad. The homemade dinner rolls and sandwich buns were delicious. They reminded me of my gram's homemade bread. We didn't get our waitress' name, but she very nice. She kept telling us to take our time. We were hurrying a bit so that they could close up. We appreciate them taking in these late hour diners. THANK YOU!
Service lacking, rude, worthless. Food was horrible steaks looked gray. They were overcooked and tasteless. Save you money and eat elsewhere.
Friday for fish -- highly recommended. Not fancy but good value.
Wow.... There was some party going on and we arrived just as the gast were leaving. The guy at the reastaurant seemed to have a drink too much at the party. I think he knew the people of the party as they were hugging each other. After being seated we got the menu. The area was not so great for us to seat, just at the entrance. For myself; I would like a steak. That was too much to ask for, instead they wanted us to eat the left overs from the party !!!!!! Friendlynes was not on the menu either... We are not picky and did not expect 5star dinner but here we left as soon as possible , without dinner !! date of our visit: July 2011.
My husband took me there for Mothers Day! A great Sunday afternoon drive in the mountains of Maryland. We enjoyed the scenery and came upon this great place to eat. The buffet was exquisite. The service beats any around. The buffet was $14.99 per person. The food was awesome. We're in our late 30s-early 40s--it was an older area of town--its not your typical modern day look. But, thats the ambience we wanted to celebrate my day. I especially liked the chicken and salad bar. My husband enjoyed everything! The sweet tea and desserts were equally as great. I recommend this great eatery to travelers going through Grantsville on I-68. Its across from the Hilltop Fruit Market....so you can grocery shop afterward. We plan to make it a yearly event as we do not travel that way much. We may just have to find excuses to travel that way again!
