The Common Market
Reviews
Last month, in support of my wife, I did a "21 day cleanse", being off caffeine, alcohol, sugar, dairy, gluten and soy, for the second week, off meat as well. We had occasionally shopped at the Common Market, but during the cleanse shopped there regularly and I must say, I've become a "convert". The food there is so fresh and is such good quality, I joined the coop! They also have a wonderful cafe, serving food that both tastes good and is good for you!
I always LIKE The Common Market as they offer a Great Selection unlike MOMs whose selection is very very limited! Also thier aisles are labeled making it easy to find what you are looking for. They offer a much far broader spectrum of Homeopathic/Herbs and Supplement products. My Homeopath Dr. Michael Liss shops there when he is seeing patients at his Frederick MD office. Everyone I've met is very friendly and helpful! Where as the Manager at MOMS can be very rude and insulting which is not only unprofessional but a deterrent to be a returning customer regardless of the free coffee. The Common Market offers everything one would expect at an Organic Market and with GREAT SERVICE! The other PLUS is thier Cafe with Delicious Food and Dessert!
Though I used to live nearby when I joined several years ago, the wonderful people and food make it well worth a frequent hour long drive to pick up fresh produce and enjoy a scrumptiously healthy sandwich. They also carry many foods that you may not find in most supermarkets.
The staff are awesome, the cafe is great and they have wifi. What more could you ask for?
If I hadn't read all the glowing reviews here I would not have been as let down by this place as I was. It is not a replacement for any Whole Foods I've ever been to, not even for a Sprouts or an Earth Fare. In comparison it's a smallish store with high prices and not a lot of inventory choices. I was especially disheartened by the meat and sea food department as some of the reviews especially mentioned what a fine selection was to be had here. Also the customer service was minimal at best, the guy working the seafood seemed irritated that he had to leave stocking the freezer to weigh me out some tuna, and the girl at the register never missed a beat in her conversation with another worker about what bar tending was like to acknowledge my presence at check out.....won't be driving half an hour to come here again
