El Tapatio Mexican Restaurant
Reviews
A decent Mexican place in my old home town, El Tapatio serves solid if not great fare. Mostly I was sad to discover the margaritas were pretty watery. The burritos, however, were large and tasty, so maybe it's a wash. All in all, El Tapatio is a strong addition to the restaurants in the area.
Had a great experience dining here. The manager was very sweet and pleasant and overall the service was great. The salsa served with the chips tasted fresh. The food was delivered quickly and the portion size was huge (well worth the money). The ambiance was great and kid-friendly. I highly recommend this place to those with a craving for Mexican cuisine.
Frozen Margaritas were terrible. 1/3 liquid, 2/3 tasteless foamy slush served in a plastic marg glass. The portions were huge but the food was pretty bland. The chicken enchilada tasted a lot like the beef burrito. rice was good. the bar area was a good place to watch a game. nice stools, foot rest ledge, and lots of TVs very visible. overall appearance of the entire restaurant was pretty cool. The bar tender seemed really put out (annoyed) from the get go. we were the only 2 people there and service was slow and infrequent. The bar tender seemed even more annoyed when we pulled out the coupon from the website. I want this place to be good but they need to polish up the margs, make the food a little more distinct (offer sauces maybe), and service improve a little.
The chips are terrible, and the salsa tastes like pasta sauce. Had a frozen margarita which tasted like it had no alcohol at all, and was very bland. The food we hoped was going to be better, but it was also tasteless. Had to use two portion of sour cream to make it good. I will say the wait staff was friendly. That was the only good thing about this place
Awesome and speedy. Yummy and fair priced.
