The food here is the star, Friends have been telling us about this place for years, and we finally made it - only sorry we didn't make it sooner. China and utensils are from your first college apartment, but once the (plentiful) food starts arriving nothing else matters. In the Berkshires where trendy restaurants come and go, this place has evidently produced great meals for decades, at prices that make all of the trendy restaurants seem even more outrageous. In talking to friends they've been doing "farm to table" for years before it even had a name. Even the wine list, while not comprehensive, has some well chosen and very moderately priced but excellent selections. A convert who will now make this a regular stop. Without a doubt some of best food in the Berkshires in an unpretentious setting.
Love this place. Always have. Tom and Lizzie have practically become family at this hole in the wall spectacular place. Reading reviews won't prepare you. When you fist walk in, you might not be quite sure as you look into the family style kitchen, but let the food and friendliness of the staff be your measure. If we had a regular restaurant, this would be it.
Food and service is very good. Good casual. Located in a bright blue house down the block from Mark Belanger Field. Tom the owner is very personable and is known to mingle with the customers. The fruit and vegetables served are purchased that day from the local markets in town and they certainly taste it. The house salad which contains fruit and vegetables in a vinegratte have a great and distinct taste. The entrees are superb with creative names. All ingredients are purchased that day. No artificial ingredients are used. All the tables have salt and pepper shakers so you can add if you wish. I personally did not feel the need. I would not want to change a great dish. If you are in the area, I highly recommend this place. Reservations are recommended. They are opened Wed - Sun from Memorial Day to Labor Day and Wed - Sat the rest of the year for dinner only. I believe during the day they are purchasing the ingredients to prepare their meals. They choose well. They only accept cash, checks and IOUs. Reservations are recommended.
First time we ate here and we will return forever more! Fantastic fresh,farm to table veggies. Ample fresh salads so refreshing and surprised with some fruits. Chef/owner was booked but gave us a porch table and made sure we enjoyed our meal. Elizabeth's has been open 27 years and now we know why! We will keep going for 27 more.
This was our first time at Elizabeths and we can say that we are hooked ! Fabulous food , decor not great but who cares ! The atmosphere is warm and inviting , like going to your Italian grandmas house ! Love , love love it here and will go back .
