This is definitely a favorite bar of mine. My dad used to drink here in college, so we have some serious nostalgia when he visits. I love the cozy atmosphere and it's the perfect place (especially to hide away from the winter nights). Lots to drink and eat. It gets a bit crowded but never unpleasant. The people I've met inside have been super friendly and interesting, willing to talk and meet new people. Lots of live music. If you get to see Haley Jane and the Primates (a favorite). Great energy inside here and they serve brunch, lunch, AND dinner.

Great local bar. An excellent selection of beer at decent prices and very good food. Keep an eye on the specials board, and every Sunday they have a chicken and fish fry which is very good.

Johnny, the bartender makes a wonderful drink called the Revolver! Food is amazing, simple, and the the staff is great too. I love their brunch menu.

Pretty good on the whole. Decent drinks and the food was pretty good, though pretty much what you expect out of a bar with a kitchen when it's not meal times. Lots of interesting things to look at on the walls, too. The atmosphere is pretty good.

A small, cozy local Irish pub with enough history and character that it's worth crossing town to have a drink there. Plough & Stars has been there I think for more than forty years and, while it's changed owners at least once, it's only gotten better in recent years. It's also the birthplace of Ireland's Connemara whiskey distillery (Ireland's only independent distillery--there's a plaque on the wall about it) and they feature a selection of Connemara whiskeys. They have an excellent brunch on Sundays, music (mostly rock-n-roll, bluegrass, and blues) most evenings and some afternoons, and in between they always pour a perfect pint. They also have an eclectic selection of beers besides Guinness. At peak times the service may sometimes be slow or confused, but they're always friendly and inviting.
