The Thursday night dinner special was awesome!! We even tipped the cook.
Portions were huge. The steak was well seasoned, juicy, and cooked correctly medium-rare as ordered. Catfish was tender, sweet, plentiful and delightful. Despite the quality and quantity of the food, I would have exchanged it all for a whole plate full of hush puppies, best I have ever eaten. Crispy piping hot on the outside, tender, fluffy, light-as-air on the inside, lightly decorated with bits of jalepeno and whole-kernal corn... totally AWESOME. This little restaurant in the middle of nowhere-in-particular, off of Rt. 20 in a pleasant little truck-stop sort of area, is a diamond in the rough. You will not be disappointed that you stopped.
I wondered upon this place while searching for a place to eat on my travels. It was a Saturday night so they had their seafood buffet. The food was great, however many of the trays laid empty so it limited my choices, all the different shrimp varieties were awesome, the catfish filets were some of the best I eaten. The place could use a bit of help on keeping it clean however they where trying. I would come back if passing through, however I would not drive out of my way to get here. This place with a little TLC could be a gold mine.
