I don't see how anyone could give this restaurant anything but 5 stars. I have lived in New Orleans my entire life and have been exposed to great cuisine both in restaurants and in my family life. des Familles is one of the finest dining adventures I've ever experienced.
Great restaurant! We only stopped for a quick cup of gumbo and alligator-stuffed mushrooms and will most certainly come back to have an entree with family when time will allow. The waitstaff was nice and the decor is pretty. Alligators and floatets in the waterway out back lend a great backdrop for wonderful dining experience
Beyond Impressed with this beautiful restaurant located in the middle of the swamp land. Brook was out hostess and was wonderful, warm and inviting. Introduced us to new flavors like alligator sauce and turtle soup. Just traveled there in February of 2014 and the dining room had open glass windows showing a picture perfect scenery of the bayou. Plenty of wild birds to look at while dining on the best food that we had while traveling in Louisiana. Would definitely return no questions asked.
Best Caesar salad and bread pudding around.
