Penny's Diner-Oak Tree Inn
Reviews

I have been to the Penny's in Yampa Colorado and Cheyenne Wyoming and can say Penny's for the most part is a pretty good place. I cannot say the same for the Penny's in Sharon Springs. They just do not put any effort into the place. There was only 1 person out of 4 working. The cook was cleaning when not cooking. The rest where playing on their phones and talking amongst each other. You would think the rest of the staff could help clean. The place needs it! I ordered a Triple decker club sandwich on sourdough bread. They served my sandwich on regular white bread which is not the reason why I will not be back to this Penny's. The cooking surface was caked with burnt food previously cooked on it. I did not see them cut my sandwich in half but whatever they used left a black residue on the on the bread. That was not appetizing. The last thing I saw made up my mind. The cook was using a scrapper to clean out the grease traps from the cooing surface. Not a bad thing. However, when said scrapper is dropped then picked up and put on the cutting board where food is prepared... Well at this point I will not be back. All the best, Gerald

This is a cute little '50s style diner with fun music and decor. Food was tasty and portions were generous. Service could be faster and friendlier, but I give them a bit of a pass for it being a 24-hour place. Restrooms were clean.
