Taxco Restaurant

What an outstanding example of great Mexican food and prompt, friendly service. We always order the freshly-made guacamole because it's delicious and it's such fun to watch it being made right in front of us. You can ask for more or less jalapeño, depending on your taste buds. The table salsa and baskets of chips keep coming at no extra charge and don't get me started on how outstanding the margarita's are. I'm not sure how many different kinds of Tequila Jesus Romero keeps on hand, but it's got to be in the hundreds.

Food is definitely not bland, and is only expensive if your on a McDonald's - type budget. Great restaurant!

Food was bland. Got the fajitas and an enchiladas platter and it was tasteless. The guacamole was the same. Decor was nice and the service was great. Mildly disappointed....

If you go there you have to get the Guacamole which they make in front of you. The food is the best mexican restaurant around. I love the painted walls with scenes from Mexico, the lady making tortillas in the front window. I had the Steak & Chicken Fajitas and they were outstanding. My wife had the Oaxaca steak and it was equally as good. The Margaritas are top notch. it's quality food. The noise levels can get a bit loud in there, and they sometimes seem to need more servers for as busy as it gets in there. When we want the best mexican cuisine the DeKalb/Sycamore area has to offer this is where we go. The other Mexican restaurants around don't come close. $13 fajitas, seems like the right price for the quality and quantity of the food provided. Overall it's a definite must try.

LOVE Taxco! Full Tequila bar (I think over 100 different kinds, so they claim). Food is excellent. I usually switch off between the enchiladas verdes or the steak fajitas. Not as crazy about the salsa but it is still good...I'm more of a pico de gallo girl ;) Guacamole is made fresh at your table from a cart so you can order it spicy or not spicy, which is a big plus for me since I love it spicy. Very friendly service. A little pricier than other mexican places in town but worth it.
