We ordered delivery for the first time, and it is the last time. Ever.
DeLong's is a nice little shop across from the courthouse in Pontiac. They have a really interesting layout with the a second floor over the kitchen area and a small, intimate seating area downstairs. They also have a patio outside for those nice days. My co-worker and I were seated right away and our order was taken. I got a "double" steak burger which just meant double the meat, not two patties stacked on top of each other. The sandwhich was really good. One of the best steakburgers I've ever eaten. The fries were the ordinary out of the bag fries. My co-worker ordered a chicken sandwhich and it was here that we realized we were being charged for every little thing. They chraged $1.00 extra for both my fries and hers...ok, I won't complain too much. It's only $1.00 and we did get a lot of fries. My co-workers sandwhich was supposed to come with swiss cheese. She didn't want swiss and asked for American. The waitress said ok, but what happened was they ordered her chicken no cheese then charged her extra for the American cheese. Other than the sneaky price additions, she was happy with her sandwhich. Overall, it's a really nice place. They also have a frozen custard shop on site for desert. I wasn't happy about all the "extras", but I still got a meal for just under $10. I would go again if I was in downtown Pontiac....just wish the waitress would tell you that everything you add outside of your plain sandwhich is extra.
By far the WORST Italian beef sandwich in town. Beef was way to salty and tough, bread was a 5 on a scale of 1 to 10, au jus was just brown salty water, and the amount of cheese was insulting.
We like DeLong's alright. Order your meat less cooked than you really like it and you'll be okay on that front. The food is nothing exceptional (most of it probably comes out of a box or bag and gets warmed up) but it is priced accordingly.
