Boars Nest Bar & Grill
Reviews
Goofy small town joint with a limited menu and a garage bar w live music. Food is fair, but service excellent. Hotel recommended it; I would try to find something better if I returned to the area.
So slow IM sitting here right now slow but good food
My parents live nearby this restaurant and whenever I try to make it in to the Boar's Nest for a horseshoe (open-faced sandwich made from texas toast, choice of meat, crinkle-cut fries, and cheese sauce.) Sometimes you'll get lucky and they'll have several sauces to choose from - definitely go for the pepper jack if available. They have live music on weekends, taxidermy-themed decor, and friendly, homey atmosphere. Definitely worth a try if you're looking for one of those out-of-the-way gems.
Great food in huge quantities. The Boar Burger is not to be missed with a side of sweet potato fries. Excellent breakfasts and some of the best horseshoes in the area. Prices are reasonable. Service can be a bit spotty at times, but they are super nice.
