Been eating there for about 11 years now, fabulous food like home cooking but better. It's like going to eat at Grandma's house, very comfortable cozy environment. Never had better pancakes anywhere and I consider myself an aficionado. The Reuben Sandwich is to die for. There's nothing on the menu I haven't liked and I've tried it all. Could name many more but then the review would be too long for you to want to read. But I can't refrain from mentioning the Homemade Pies though,...oh the pies!!!! A must have and worth the trip. Cream pies 10 inches tall, fruit pies so fresh and then her famous Trudy Huckleberry Cheesecake. Enjoy! Look forward to many more years of eating there.

The food, Delicious! The service, horrid... The waitress was so intimidated by our party of 9, she rushed through taking our orders, only got half the drink orders, we had to go to the counter to ask for syrup for our breakfast, had to wait for silverware and drinks while our food sat in front of us... And when we were trying to get her attention, she would catch eye contact and run the other direction. Made us feel unwelcome and a burden. Would love to eat the food again, but don't want to be treated that way again...

The Coconut Cream Pie is worth the trip to Idaho City by itself! Other item's such as huckleberry cheesecake and the egg and bacon sandwich were also quite good. Just make sure to save room for dessert.

I love trudys. The pie is amazing.

Hair everywhere? The staff is friendly enough but the food is mediocre: fries are greasy and have no taste (other than the grease) and the "hot sandwich" I ordered had 2 very blonde/white hairs in it (I'm lucky I actually noticed them sticking out before taking a bite). When I sent it back you could hear one of the ladies say "Hairs AGAIN?" This made me too nervous to try another, so if you really really want to go there watch out for hairs. :)
