The food fine the service was pretty poor the food was definitely overpriced $102.89 for something I could have bought at HyVee

After my last two visits, I think I'm done with GC. I've always loved their food, despite the high prices. Service has always been excellent and portion sizes were huge. Two visits ago, I went there for lunch and ordered my fave - the grill Asian chicken salad. As soon as it came out, I knew it was smaller. Noticeably smaller. I wrote the manager through their website, and he confirmed - smaller portions. The salad is expensive as it is; the lunch one is $10, but at least it comes with soup. Last night we visited for dinner with a group of ten. They were busy and seemed to have enough staff, but our food took a while to get. I noticed everyone's portions were small (esp the fries! - that little silver cup they put them in is so small!). I again got the Asian chicken salad and didn't realize until later it was missing the wonton strips. So $12 for that salad with an ingredient missing and no soup (soup does not come with the dinner one for some reason). We had to ask the wait staff to remove dirty dishes from the table and bring water, since they did not check back. We never were clear who our wait staff was... as it seemed to change throughout the night. Food was decent, but based on the smaller portions, already high prices and the so-so service I've received lately, there's no need for me to go back.

Rude hostess, waited over 20 minutes no one was in the restaurant, but the bar was packed. The young girl seated the 2 men that came in after I stood there waiting and didn't bother to even apologize. This was my third trip to this Granite City. Each time there has been a problem, food, service, and even the cleanliness. Go back to the original Granite City and get training.

Been going to Granite City for over 4 years, me and my girlfriend would come here almost every Saturday night, we wouldn't go more than 2 weeks without coming, We always got the same thing which is the Chicken Alfredo, we never really wanted to try anything new ever just because we've heard many horror stories of terrible food, but ive noticed that the last 6-7 visits we've had, the food, and the service are declining. The food is seriously a hit or a miss. My last visit on 02/28/2014 my food came out COLD (chicken alfredo) they were not busy because i went in at 9pm, both my gf and I were extremely mad because we were so hungry. The manager came by and asked how everything was and we told her it was cold and tasted different, she explained to us that the recipe had changed a little bit, and asked to get us another one, we said no because we werent going to wait around for anything else longer than we already did. They didnt even offer us a dessert, or a refund/gift certificate, and we didnt eat our food. I normally NEVER complain about anything anywhere i go but i was so fed up with the poor service and food quality, i've been in the restaurant business for over 7 years and i would never let a customer leave mad, atleast offer a dessert or whatever makes them happy to get them back. I will not be back..

I have been here a number of times and I have always loved the service, food, and overall atmostphere BUT today was awful. I had ate half my salad which I always get there because it is so good and there was a HUGE moth in it. They made it the most "right" they could by giving us (four adults) our meals free but 4 hours later I still can't eat and my stomach is turning. I love the place but I won't be returning for a long time. Just too gross.
