After driving past That Place for nearly a decade we finally stopped, and when we did, we regretted driving past all of those years. We've actually been back a couple times since! The Broasted Pork Chop... The Prime Rib.... my gosh. They are one of the best around and well worth a trip. We've even driven up for Des Moines just for dinner.
I just HAVE to write another review for this restaurant. We came here a couple of nights ago (see previous review) and wanted to come and check out the prime rib. The waitress recommended that we make a reservation, so we made one for 5pm. We got here at 5pm (which is when they open) and the parking lot was full already!! Always a good sign!! We entered and the hostess began to seat us - I told her we had a reservation - and she remembered our name!!!! We had only been here once a couple of days earlier!! That was impressive!! Our waitress remembered us, too, even though she wasn't even our waitress on our previous visit!! :0. We ordered the prime rib and it did not disappoint!!! It was the BEST prime rib I have ever had!!!! My knife slid through the meat without any pressure at all - as if it was cutting through a cloud!!! That Place is amazing!!! I Definately recommend making a reservation, though, if you plan on eating there on a Friday or Saturday night.
I'm a local, and have been going to this restaurant for most of my life. This place is out of the way but is always busy. When it's my turn to pick the place for my family to get together this is the place that I pick the most. The prime rib is the best around, and it's a great place to spend time with your family. I have been recommending this place's steak to people all over Iowa. It's certainly the best place around for great food!
