We checked in to the hotel last night, and were greeted with friendly, kind people from the moment we pulled up at the valet. The kind Australian woman at the counter was so helpful, and immediately offered me a reasonable solution to my desire to have a lanai, even though we had paid for the partial ocean view room. We headed to the grill in the lobby, and despite the fact that it was after 9, and they were getting ready to close, the hostess graciously seated us, and the waitstaff treated us like it was the first table of the night. Almost seem too good to be true? We'll, if you feel that way, then you better head up to the north shore and see what you're missing out on. I am so looking forward to the rest of our stay at this most amazing place.

THIS IS THE MOST DISGUSTING AND AWFUL HOTEL I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. I RESERVED A SMOKING ROOM AND WAS SMOKING IN MY ROOM WHEN SECURITY KNOCKED ON THE DOOR TO TELL ME I COULD NOT SMOKE. I PROTESTED BECAUSE I SPECIFICALLY ASKED FOR A SMOKING ROOM. THE SECURITY USED HIS RADIO TO HIT ME IN THE FACE AND RUINED MY VACATION. I HAD SWOLLEN FACE THE WHOLE TIME I WAS IN HAWAII FOR TWO WEEKS. THEY ARE VERY RACIST AND DARK AND I WISH AN EARTHQUAKE OR A VOLCANO WILL DESTROY THAT PLACE. AND I HOPE A LARGE FIRE WILL DESTROY THAT PLACE.

Great area to stay if you are trying get away from the "city" feel. Resort was clean and staff very friendly. Restaurants were poor and highly over priced.

Maybe it's by design but this place don't get a lot of publicity and it's one of the most relaxing places I've ever visited. My wife and I spent a week on Oahu last week, we spent the first 3 days at Turtle Bay and the rest of our time in Waikiki. Each night at TB we slept with the balcony doors open, it was so relaxing to hear the waves crashing up against the rocks. What's even better was that they have louvered doors you can slide closed for privacy but still allow you to hear the ocean. We were so disappointed when we got to Waikiki, we opened our balcony door to dirty rooftops, ac units, and noise. We will likely take another trip to Hawaii in about 5 years and we will stay at TB the entire time. The service was great, if you're into golf they have that, it's just a cool place to stay. Unless you're like 21 or just love the "touristy" spots, rent a car and drive straight to TB when you get off the plane.

My husband and I had our wedding last month at Turtle Bay Resort, and it was beautiful. We were on a tight budget, but Mikilani in Sales helped us come up with really creative solutions to make it possible! Turtle Bay does not require you to use any specific vendors, and we found this flexibility made all the difference as we were able to bring in the vendors which best matched our personalities and budget. We had our ceremony in the Wedding Pavilion and reception in Pa'akai, and both turned out absolutely perfect, thanks to all the hard work of Dida, Chef Conrad, and Liz, the on-site florist. We were treated like family from every planning email, to our tasting and ultimately the wedding itself. They even accommodated my gluten allergy with a beautiful gluten free menu and cake. The attention to detail was spectacular and I can't say enough good about Turtle Bay!! Dida, the Catering Manager, was so responsive to my questions and very flexible with our requests. She always made time to respond to all my questions and she communicated effectively to make sure that we were all on the same page. My husband loved the fact that she really paid attention to small details, and ensured our every request was fulfilled. One of the things that stood out to me was that she made herself available to me as early as 5 AM on a Sunday (the day of the wedding) for some last minute concerns that I had. She would often work late too because she would be answering some of my emails late into the evening! The catering staff was great too. They were very attentive to the guests and our needs throughout the reception. Our empty plates would be cleared off the table quickly and our beverage glasses were never empty. One of the important things to my husband and I when we were planning the wedding was that we wanted good food. At Turtle Bay, we had GREAT food, and lots of it! Everyone we talked to raved about the food, especially the skirt steak kabobs, the roast big island pork, the mahi mahi and the generous dessert buffet. Shoutouts: Wendell at the front desk saved my life on Wedding Morning when I desperately needed my car parked at 4 in the morning. He could sense my urgency and literally took it upon himself to run (not walk) over to the valet desk to get my car squared away. It is because of Wendell that my wedding day was able to stay on track instead of running late. THANK YOU. Chef Conrad took the time out of his busy schedule to meet with us for our tasting. He accommodated every one of our wishes, even those which may have seemed a little strange. On the wedding day, he and his staff ensured that our wedding had plenty of delicious food and were pampered the whole time. Hosting our guests properly was a major concern of ours, and their execution was perfect. Servers Karen and John in Catering saved my life on the wedding day. Not only did they deliver the most attentive, high end wait staff service I have ever experienced, but Karen even went beyond that and saved me from TWO major, impending disasters. It's because of Karen that I didn't suffer embarrassment on my wedding day. I can't possibly thank her enough! In summary, Turtle Bay is very accommodating and easy to work with. The staff are honest people & extremely helpful. I would recommend them to anyone who dreams of a beautiful wedding day in paradise!
