Had a NaNoWriMo meeting here and tried their peppermint mocha! It is so much better than Starbucks!! Plus the décor was great inspiration to help me write!!
Rome has only one coffeehouse besides Starbucks, and it's better than most of those I visit in Chattanooga and Atlanta. The decor is a step above most coffeehouses I've been to and resists stereotype while still featuring local themes and artists. I recommend ordering a macchiato or one of their slow bar coffees. The service team is always friendly and eager to help. At the end of the bar they have a record player and a collection of vinyls that patrons can get played. There's also a table in the back you can reserve for small groups or events.
The coffee here is great - fresh and just as good, if not better than Starbucks, and priced a bit lower as well. The people are very friendly, always smiling. I love that they are a local business and support local community events - for instance, they host a pick-up for a local CSA (where you buy shares of fresh produce/eggs from a local farm), and they display fliers for local events in their front window. Better than supporting huge national chain coffee shops, in my opinion. There is no drive through, so sometimes it is difficult to stop in when I have my young children with me, but it is worth going in - the decor is really nice: cozy and with nice artwork. I ca barely believe the building used to be a photo developing store for decades before Swift and Finch moved in!
Way better quality coffee than that big corporate coffee chain.
