Great restaurant in a small cozy town. Beautiful historic building. All home made food of the best quality. One of the bestplaces I've found. Authentic. Highly recommend, I wish I could visit again.
The owner is very passionate about his restaurant and it shows with the clean, fresh atmosphere and delicious food. Wiregrass Restaurant is open Tuesday through Saturday for Lunch and Dinner. Lunch specials are random and are posted for the entire week on a board inside the dining area. The dishes consist of a broad range of culinary types and techniques. Fresh vegetables from the local farmers are frequently prepared and offered as a side item. Dinner is quite a treat, as the night brings out the fantastic decor with the lighting accents and rustic interior finish. A select choice of wines are available with your meal as well as mixed drinks and cold beer. Friday and Saturday night's seafood buffet is accompanied by live music from the open area bar in the upper section of the restaurant. Finally, guest chef events are frequent at the Wiregerass and feature culinary creations and recipes from local aspiring and part-time chefs. In summary, the Wiregrass restaurant is a refreshing establishment in a quaint little town that offers cuisine on a level that is indicative of passion and delivers it in a manner that matches the humble spirit of the community.
Fine southern dining, ok bar, but I think it's the only bar in Brooks County. Good Seafood on the Friday and Saturday nite, all you can eat for us fatties. Nice lunches, Southern style cooking. I pass thru Quitman and try to stop for lunch when I can. It's now 4 years later, September 2011, Food is still really good, not the only bar in Quitman now.
Great! Awesome chocolate cake and bread pudding! Great service too! The seafood was awesome as well!
I love the hand cut steaks and the desserts. I went up to the bar and had several drinks on the outdoor deck with the fire under the star!! I will definitely be back with my friends.
