THAT PLACE IS HORRIBLE! We sat down to eat at 1:50pm and was not advised that they were closing at 2pm (then told it's on the door in small writing). We asked if there would be fresh food once we made a small plate of an over cooked full of grease catfish and dried out chicken strips. We asked to speak to the manager because they were charging us full price for leftover food. The manager spoke to the owner and they told us to get out. While this was happening our "Server" speaking loudly for the rest of the restaurant to hear her stating to "WOW if you complain you get free food and only ones complaining is you". We were in total shock that this was happening. My husband being in the US Army and to be treated this way on our visit home for the holidays, was beyond unbelievable. Regardless that the food was not good at all. We gladly would have paid for such a bad meal. But to treat a US Vet still in the Army as this restaurant did, is beyond disrespectful.
I live, and work in Jacksonville. But occasionally when my work brings me close enough, I try to make a run up to Okefenokee Restaurant. I've only ever had one thing, their cheeseburger. But I'll tell you what, I've had it three times now, and it's the best cheeseburger I've had, other than I make myself. If we ever had more time to sit down and eat, the buffet looks very impressive as well. And the service has always been top notch. Great food, and great, friendly service, get you guys 5 Stars.
Great food, great service. Best iced tea around to go with the delicious seafood buffet on Friday nights. Highly recommend!!
