One of those delightful surprises you stumble across in unexpected places. Had driven by here for months without stopping, but arranged to meet friends there for lunch. Stepping in, the ambiance was immediately welcoming and warm, with a fireplace in the corner on a cold late February day. The menu was broad enough to satisfy the tastes of the three of us without being cluttered. Items were reasonably priced and the waitress was as down-home friendly as Dolly Parton's accent. The food was well-prepared to order. My friend who is particular about his french fries had joked with the waitress about sending them back to the cook if they weren't as good as she promised. He left the last bite of his burger so he could finish them. It was just at $30 for us including the tip. A serendipitous discovery for a local, a delightful oasis for the I-16 traveler.
