Well after looking at several local bbq establishments, and based on 2 locals input, we decided on this place. I purposely and writing this to get an updated 2015 review. Definitely wouldn't tell anyone, they must go. The ribs were good, but nothing memorable. Mac and cheese, fake, green beans out of a can, brisket dry. We drove from lakeland, so not too far, but in my opinion, everyone's reviews (most of them at least 6 mos. Or older reviews) of several other locations was a hit and miss also. So try Jimbo's at your own risk.
Not a big BBQ eater, my husband is - he likes it (his name is "Jim".) it must be doing something right - not too many restaurants stay around this long! 50 years. Nice folks, great pickles. I'm guessing they've not tried to expand or remodel (?) over the years - maybe that's helped keep the prices sort of in line ? Wish the restrooms a little more accessible ...
used to go there all the time, but there are better places in town now like bubbaques and peebles. foods not great and the place is a dump. bubbas is much better, hell any place is better
Been going here for 50 years ALWAYS GOOD thanks for keeping it great Tracey.
Was not impressed with food. Sandwich bread soggy, pork meat fatty, French fries cold, hushpuppies tasted at least day old. We placed our order to go and ate it promptly after picking it up. The way it was packaged was a huge mess. Would not recommend. If you want good Lakeland BBQ, I would highly suggest Bubbaque's.
