Grady's Seafood
Reviews
I can't believe there aren't more reviews about this place because it is always packed. It's a bare-bones, old-school spot with an adjacent waiting room offering rocking chairs, checkers & other distractions. The simple seafood menu has been the same for ages, nothing fancy, just straightforward favorites like fried shrimp & catfish. But the real star here, in my opinion, is the onion ring basket. Though I've long left the area, I still crave those rings — crispy, minimal grease & an onion slice that melts in your mouth, not one that you wind up pulling out of the batter. Gotta go to Grady's.
Disappointed with my meal tonight. Had the fried oyster & shrimp platter. Oysters were watery with no flavor and the shrimp was nothing special. Normally a fried platter includes hushpuppies and slaw but not here. Just fries, which were actually good. And be prepared with cash or check. No cards accepted. Drove several miles to eat at Gradys. Not worth the drive or the $35
