Nav-A-Gator Bar & Grill
Reviews
Nav-A-Gator is a perfect hole in the wall bar and grill. They have this amazing signature sauce, the service is friendly and familiar, food is decent and cheap, and the atmosphere is a rare, genuine Florida vibe. They have an outdoor tiki bar, games in the back, and hilarious gifts in their gift shop. Awesome place to stop mid-boating day upriver and grab some food and beverages. Complainers: go back up North. We love our Nav-A-Gator!
Visited by boat. Great docking. Great staff. Food super. One of the best values around. Similar to Cabbage Key but affordable !! Tom
Pricey cheap food , visting from MN seen signs figured can't be to bad, nice area. they did not know they was out of the food I wanted Intel 10 mins later what a waste of time ! I got fris cuz I did not want to wait again they were soggy and flavorless had 3 other people with, burgar was ok. Pulled.pork was a little better then a microwaved whole sale gas station sandwich coconut shrimp was decent but every where sells that nothing special. took around 40 mins for food ,it's all ala carte meaning u get no side with food unless u pay more $ at least they were nice people but I see no reason to stop here unless u need booze maybe they can handle making a drink .
Awesome location. Back tiki bar/stage/firepit looked like a place where a lot of fun could be had....wish it was being utilized tonight. (i was told they only use it on Saturdays during the day...what a waste!) Got the nachos- took a little longer than you'd expect for some tortilla chips, beef, cheese, tomatoes, salsa, and jalapenos but they tasted great! atmosphere was great- met and sparked up conversation with a couple randoms that were genuinely friendly, very nice, and fun to talk to. everyone else seemed like they were either having fun or having a great meal. as everyone else has said, yes, the prices were a bit high, that's for sure. all in all, a nice couple hours at a cool little FL dive bar.
Very disappointed. Just moved in the area from Ohio and was told that this place would be a great place to go with our boat and eat and travel up the river. The ride was about the only thing that impressed me. We finally found the place and found that the channel wasn't marked other than a very very small sign that said Nav-a-Gator luckily it was high tide because we where told that a sandbar was in middle of the canal enterance. The so called Desota marine looks like it went bankrupt over 60 percent of the docks where unsafe to dock and wouldn't recommend walking on them only one dock had caution tape around it and the rest where halfway in the water. (note to owner "purchase some more caution tape or take them down before someone gets hurt") there was also a BIG sign at the pump that said "NO GAS" will report this to Boat US since this is a so called Boat US approved marina. Now a little about the restraunt. The food was just ok and very over priced for what I would consider fast food quality. Had two Bloody Mary's with my meal and asked for a coke to conter the drinks, since I was driving the boat back. Was surprised that I was charged for the coke since I ordered two bar dinks at $5.50 a piece. When I asked the server/bartender about it she just said that's how we do it here. The total cost with a tip was $60.00 and I deducted the charge for the coke off of the tip "That's the way I do it" I wouldnt waste your money.
