i think that the way the whole building is laid out really works. when you look from the outside you see the large mash tons, and boilers through the window, keep walking a little farther and get to the entrance, where you slip off, either dinner or bar. this trip was about getting some grub to eat after a beautiful day at keystone ski area. inside the dinning area the walls have a pretty intricate mural themed after mining and the tommy knocker character, well done. The menu is pretty straight forward, I was pretty hungry so i opted for the hawaiian pulled pork tacos. when the plate came full, i left it empty, which was good. after trying the sampler of beer, i paired a pick axe ale with the main meal because it said it as a suggestion in the menu. but as the meal was wrapping up i opted to take home not just one, but two growlers 11.99 a piece home with me, an imperial nut brown, a special and the nut brown that is on tap at all time. it was well worth the trip, and i will probally be back if for no other reason but to refill my growlers $9.00 hope you found this review helpful joe

We got there just before 8pm, we wanted a table away from tv-football games, they sat us in loud room with 4 TV screens with football. On our food order, we didn't want the Cole slaw side (which we tried before and do not like it). they would not budge on a Mac/cheese side though they have in the past. So, we had to order a full order of Mac/cheese, which was not great, pulled.pork very dry, black bean burger burnt. I won't go back there. Beer was good.

we got in right away, the food came pretty fast, and it was really good. We got a nice booth which allowed nice ambience and no noise that our conversation had to overcome. There are a good number of brewery beer options – we tried 3, and all were good. We also tried all of their wings flavors accept barbecue – the wings were very large and the flavors very good. The cheese soup is very thick – most people will not be able to eat a bowl of it. The fish tacos were absolutely fantastic! They came with two long pieces of fish in each one that was very tasty and well cooked. My wife could only about one of them. The house onion rings were pretty standard but good, the fries were good. The lamb burger with Greek sauce was underwhelming. I like lamb, but this recipe didn't work very well. The bun is very large and hard to get your mouth around, and the sauce placed on top of the Patty easily comes out onto your clothing if you aren't careful. But mainly, the taste really wasn't that great. I wouldn't get it again. The house salad was fresh and the burger that my brother-in-law got was of good quality and taste. It's not super cheap, but it's not super expensive either. Ambience is good, and we didn't have to wait at all to get in for dinner. I would definitely go back, and this is the restaurant I would recommend in Idaho Springs – but, in all fairness I've only been to two.

How dare you get rid of the Mountain Man (chicken fried steak/mash). Used to be my favorite place to stop for dinner headed up/going down the hill... not anymore, won't be back until your best dish returns. Two Brothers Deli across the street has absolutely phenomenal food and a very personable staff, they'll be getting my business for lunch and dinner now, not just lunch.
