With dishes like "Death by Pork", Anthony Bourdain would be as giddy as a pig eating modern twists on Filipino cuisine at Attic. When you first enter the establishment, you'll find yourself in the bar below Attic. Head up a narrow flight if stairs to eat in the chic dining room above. I ordered a "dry" variation of _pinakbet_, traditionally a vegetable stew served with cracklings and fermented shrimp. This one came with pork belly atop a bed of delicious vegetables, including eggplant and long beans. I asked for Mang Tomas, a Filipino "general" sauce and it turns out they make their own, which was like pate. I felt a little guilty dipping deep fried pork belly into pate, but I don't regret it! Our server was very sweet and thankfully didn't give us the stink eye for wrapping up after closing time. I wish they had later hours because it'd be a nice place to go and sip a cocktail and share a small plate after seeing a movie across the street.
Filipino food made fancy? Solid food, solid drinks. Happy hour drink specials daily till 10 (or was it 11?) - awesome. Good service. Great ambiance. Ready to go back and try the rest of the menu! - Wings - 5/5 - Yum! - Poke App - 4.5/5 - Too much seaweed for my taste but good flavors - Bo luc lac - 4/5 - Good but not sure I like the price on that (knowing that same dish is cheaper elsewhere and tastier).. nevertheless still good - Death by Pork - 3.5/5 - Good not stellar
Great filipino fusion restaurant. I discovered this place a few years back When I was asked to come photograph for an event. I love little restaurants that have knick knacks all over. It was a feast for my eyes to find all the little decorations allover. OMG Can you say lumpia??? Growing up a friend of mine was Filipino and her would always make lumpia when I cam over. This is the first place I have found the comes close to what she made.... it's also what keeps me coming back time and time again!! Go get some food in your belly!!!
Cool bar for happy hour downstairs with good drink specials. Asian fusion restaurant featuring filipino dishes upstairs with nice decor. The garlic noodles are a must. A group of us shared the death by pork and it was quite tasty. It came with chicharonnes, deep fried pork belly, and fried pig trotter. The menu says it feed 4-6 but you should still get a couple other dishes to go with it. Skip the pea shoots and calamari, they're just okay.
Came here with a friend for an early dinner. We shared the Brussell Sprouts, Garlic Noodles, the Korean BBQ Beef. This was the perfect amount for two people to share and we enjoyed all of the dishes. I will need to come back with a larger group to try the "Death By Pork" and saw a couple tables order this while we were dining. Will be back to try the rest of the creative dishes on their menu!
