Definitely not Starbucks. Much better! Feels local and friendly. Best cup of coffee in town = Ethiopian. Also try the espresso con panna!
It really depend on what you're getting. Either it's wonderful or terrible- no middle ground. If you want a frap stick to Starbucks but hot coco and smoothies are the best!
Fresh coffee from clean brewing apparatus. Delicious scones (I don't even like scones, usually) and free wifi. WIFI downside -- requires a password -- and they give you two passwords but only one of them works! Quixotic. This place is warm and friendly, and I highly recommend it. Avoid the bookstore/coffeeshop down the street with an unpleasant vibe. Come to LooneyBean. Seriously!
While on vacation we stopped in where treated with great service, terffic coffee and the owner went out of his way to tell us of some fishing sites near by and answer my wifes question about his 3 compartment "concession" sink. The next day when leaving town we had the option of going to the big coffee chain down the street or back to the looney bean. We made the right choice by going back as there where 2 blackberry scones in the display case. I have to say, they very fresh and without a doubt the best scone's we have ever had. Excellent coffee (I'm from LA so I know), great service, nice atmosphere. Not quite 5 stars because they don't have many electrical outlets for laptops and the food is so so. Get these out of the way and it's high five all the way.
