Excellent BBQ spot!! A must try if you're in the area. Not only was the food delicious but the service was beyond normal expectation. Thank you Matt for staying open well beyond your closing hours to satisfy mine and my friends BBQ craving!
I had little expectation of finding good vegetarian food en route from Yosemite to Death Valley so hooray for Copper Top BBQ (yes, you read "vegetarian" and "BBQ" in the same sentence)! My family/ co-travelers reported that the BBQ meat sandwiches were excellent and I had delicious vegetarian chili with fire roasted green chilis - yum! They also have vegetarian sides (coleslaw, mac n' cheese) that put a tasty twist on old BBQ standards. Additionally, the open-air venue was great for getting out of the car and stretching (they also have a tented area in case of inclement weather. A great experience with friendly folks and great food. Thank you, Copper Top!
Awesome BBQ, friendly staff. Even the "high Sierra" ice tastes good. Ribs and tri tip are great.
We stopped here on the way to Mammoth; we saw the smoke and knew it was out-door BBQ. We had vegetables in our cooler so the plate of Copper Top tri-tip was our main dish. It was the best. The seating outside was fun, under shade with misters. We sat with other travelers at the picnic table who were ecstatic about their pulled pork sandwich. Don't miss experience!
Award winning BBQ in Big Pine...we stopped by on the way home for a superb tri-tip sandwhich and a pulled pork sandwhich. The outdoor seating, the friendly service and the food were 5 star!
