This place is hysterical. It's a totally run-of-the-mill, highway-side restaurant, complete with fries that obvious came out of a bag and clearly nothing that is homemade (our waitress even mentioned that the apple pie came frozen). Still, we had a great time. They're just so excited about the Bar Rescue thing that it makes the entire experience kind of silly. So while the food is a 2-star experience, the overall experience is higher just because this place is so damn funny.
Saw Chilleens on the way back to Sedona from Phoenix and decided to stop. From all the menus and signage on the table, this place was on one of those "save my bar/restaurant" shows and it was obvious that it may need to go on another one from the looks of the dark, dank interior. The food, however, was very good. I ordered the beef ribs and my wife got the pork ribs. Both were delicious and the bbq sauce was amazing. My wife also ordered the Juicy Fruit cocktail and thought it was awesome.
Server was new and she was awesome! Food was good. Friendly atmosphere! Will go again
I thought it was great. Never seen the show but happened to stop in for lunch while traveling and thought it was real good food (i had the burger, it seemed like good meat, not frozen or pre-pattied), great prices, and great atmosphere. Great coffee shop next door as well. I wish it wasn't so far, I'd go all the time.
We had seen the bar rescue episode and since we were going to be vacationing in the area we thought we would try it out. Boy, what a mistake. Dark dank atmosphere, a waitress with no emotion whatsoever, and the food was a joke. I had the "badass" ribs. Smoked nicely, but the bbq sauce was dribbled over them. My husband had a steak that he ordered medium well done that came bright pink inside. He did say that it tasted alright. My daughter ordered a hamburger which she ended up cutting with a knife and eating with her fork when the grease got the bun so soggy she couldn't pick it up. The bathrooms are broken down and old, and there was sawdust all over the floor. Wouldn't go back there.
