Miyako Sushi Bar
Reviews
Probably the best sushi I have ever had, the Hawaiian Roll is divine. Also the non-sushi food is great too, all at a good price. Me and my buddy had a literal feast for half the price it would cost elsewhere.
Our time at Miyako began very well, but ended extremely poor. The sushi was amazing, the best in huntsville, however the dinner boxes and so forth tasted as if they had been microwaved. There were dehydrated onions with my teriyaki chicken, and the other dish was spongy and stale tasting. And when I asked if the manager could do something about the food after explaining what was wrong, she proceeded to become very angry with us. We had not eaten hardly any of it, and she threatened to call the police on us if we refused to pay. I definitely would not recommend this place to anybody possessing taste buds unless you want solely sushi.
Just recently moved to Hunstville after landing a job here. I am from the Northwest Alabama area and Huntsville was for a long time the closest place for me to get Japanese food, especially my favorite sushi. I had been to Miyako one night on one of my sushi binges years ago. It was good then but I had not been back until now. One of my new coworkers told me that Miyako had a sushi for $1.00 on Monday nights. Well I finally got around to checking it out last Monday. It was great. It was 1 piece Nigiri for a $1.00 or 3 piece roll for $1.00. The Monday special menu does not include every type of nigiri or roll but it was like 5 types of nigiri and 5 types of rolls and all were my favorites. So even if you order a double order of something to get the regular menu deal of 2 nigiri or a 6 piece roll you are still coming out ahead by about a $1.50 to $2.00 less then what it would normally cost at normal menu price. Probably going to be my new favorite Monday night hangout. There was a pretty good sized crowd but not crowded at 8 PM when I showed up. A lot of young people, probably college students, and others who love sushi but have limited budgets. The waitresses were hot too. Probably married or not into westerners but I can always hope. If your a girl the sushi chefs were pretty handsome guys. Give Miyako a try. Construction at the intersection of Whitesburg and Memorial plus just the way Memorial Parkway is designed means you have to make a U-turn unless your already going north on Memorial. Do not blink or you will be making multiple U-turns. More parking in the rear of the restaurant.
