Atmosphere was fun but service was worst I have experienced in Norway. 45 min wait for food with half empty restaurant, no cutlery, and missing glasses when food did arrive finally. My fish soup was good but not everyone loved their meal. A good place for drinks but not for dining.
Dined here with work. The starter was whale with different vegetables. It needed more whale. Good presentation. The main course was a traditional norwegian plate called "Boknafish". If you're fan of rubbery and tasteless fish, this is for you. It came with potatoes, bacon and a pretty good gravy, so I guess it wasn't all that bad. The chocolate fondant for dessert was very good. Prices here are stiff and the food didn't live up to the implied standard. The interior is supposed to look like the insides of an old fishing house. Lots of wood and open flames. The service was friendly, effective and competent. All in all, if you're not a fish person you should go somewhere else.
As can be seen from other reviews this may be the exception but the service was really bad when we visited the restaurant. Since the restaurant was full the service could not cope with the amount of orders (while the kitchen could). The food was average at best and not worth the high prices.
Really good fiskesuppe. Very big plate of it. And absolutely fair prices for size and quality of food.
