After visiting last week, I agree with everything James said as we had the same food. We ordered to meals. Chicken/haggis and the Mac Cheese. The room was empty except us. It took ages to deliver. They forgot the garlic bread. Maybe as we ordered 2 sides as extra, that was a step too far. Mushrooms and chips as extra sides. I then ordered a burger 25 mins later, basically when the first order was delivered to stagger the food order [to try to help], that took ages to come out too. Staff were not trained, in anything as far as I could see. Wrong cutlery set on the table. My wife had to request more water in her tea. The list could go on for ever. The whole bar and food staff need to lift their game or they won't be open for long. Also I think the food and drinks are expensive for what we had. The food from the first order [Chicken and Mac etc] has not hot by any standards. So it had been sitting downstairs in the kitchen when it should have been on our table. I hope you read this and take it as honest feedback.

Pleasant surroundings and a good, young waiter/barman. The food was nice, but far from outstanding. My wife and I both chose the chicken and haggis in whisky sauce. A good sized portion well cooked, but the sole vegetable was cauliflower making the entire dish white. If there was any whisky in the sauce we couldn't detect it. My daughter had macaroni cheese and garlic bread from the children's menu. No vegetables at all and the 'garlic' bread was two poorly cooked supermarket baguette slices. Burnt at one end and without do much as a scrape of butter never mind any garlic. The mac itself was nice, she enjoyed it, but so disappointing in presentation and effort.
