The Blue Boar

Crap food all 5 of us got food poisoning from the burgers
Food was lovely but behind the bar service when first walking in wasnt good. One person putting glasses away & walked straight past us.
Really good with our baby, went to the trouble of finding a cushion to prop him up in the high chair a little better, it's the little things that count. As for the food, my burger was a little bland but I soon sorted that out with some salt and pepper. Overall I'm going to be back as anywhere that puts our baby up on the priority list is worth my custom.
I used to love the blue boar a while back for its home made pub grub. I went here on saturday and was disappointed with the quality. We only had bangers & mash and lamb shank in red wine sauce, but it wasn't great. To be honest i'd say Wetherspoons would have tasted better for the money. The blue boar needs to decide whether its a local pub serving quality home made pub food or is trying to be a gastro pub.
Expected good things having had recommendations; but we waited ages for someone to take our order, which they then proceeded to lose. Sat for 45 minutes until the finally came over and said they couldn't find our order. We were so hungry by this point we couldn't wait to reorder so we just got a pudding to share, which wasn't great. No apology when we paid and no offer of a complentary meal or drinks. Terrible service, will not be going back.
