The Ambrette
Reviews

Had an awesome meal at The Ambrette, the food was fantastic and the service was good. It's kind of Indian-influenced fine dining - but it's neither a curry house nor overly pretentious. The dishes aren't generally curries, but they're inventive and unmistakeably Indian with great use of spices and distinctive flavours. A lot of the dishes seemed to have orange as the dominant colour and more variety would be good. The restaurant itself is pleasant but takes a simple approach and is not overly fancy. Coming from London I'd like to see more Asians on the staff, just because it seems more in keeping with the theme.

Went for lunch on the senior's discount card. Excellent. Welcome sparkling wine and Indian canapes on the house on arrival. Interesting menu beautifully presented. The staff were very obliging and efficient. Good to see local Kingsdown water on the menu. Looking forward to my next visit. Chris Darby

Very enjoyable meal where the flavours were amazing and everything looked and tasted a treat. Unfussy ambience which means relaxed fine dining. Good to see local produce prepared and served in original ways.

Really exiting Gourmet Indian Cuisine. Good service Privilege card a must for the over 60's
