"We have a pontoon from A-Laiturit on an island called Danskog near Tammisaari. Two years ago the box that supported the walkway to the pontoon was partially broken and moved because of the sea ice. We then had it repaired by their sub-contractor Raaseporin saaristopalvelu Oy for EUR 6000. The box was repaired, and the pontoon was repositioned. After each of the two winters 2011 and 2012 the box started to move again and break up causing the walkway to fall off the pontoon into the water. We complained to Raaseporin saaristopalvelu Oy who claimed that we purchased the cheapest solution and that our box does not survive well when placed on a sandy beach! We only purchased what they recommended - we did not go for the cheapest solution! Because they were not helpful, we decided to do the repair work ouselves this summer (2013) and we discovered that the repairs made in 2010/2009 we really shody. Thin wood slats (10x2cm) was used to repair the box , too few stones were laid in the box and ordinary nails were used to hold the box together! We reparied the box with 15x5cm wood and with steel nuts and bolts. We used four times as many stones in and around the box. A-Laiturit were not helpful and Raaseporin saaristopalvelu were shody in the workmanship - we cannot recommned their services."
