The Roman Aqueduct of Segovia is another fascinating place to visit in this historic city. This aqueduct was built by the Romans during the 1st-2nd centuries and was restored during the Spanish Inquisition in the 15th century after parts of it were destroyed by the Moors. The structure used to carry water from the nearby mountains 15km (about 9.5 miles) into the city. Many parts of the aqueduct are underground. In the Azoguejo Plaza, you can see the full grandeur of this structure as it reaches it's maximum height at 28.5m (about 93ft). The aqueduct is another charming part of Segovia.
