ALEX has a versatile menu and decent prices. Sometimes the wait staff isn't great, but most times they are. During Euro or World Cup they play the games (along with every other bar in town), but it's a nice place to watch them. The outside seating is beautiful, and it's a good place to catch lunch or a dinner in the summer when it's scorching outside! Not usually my first choice to eat at, but it's a good back up and a place to meet friends. Mostly a good choice for menu variety.
I've been to Alex twice now (between Feb and Mar 2014) with my students (I'm a teacher). The first time, the staff were friendly and attentive. The second time, we managed to get a server that really didn't seem like she was made for the service industry. She was unfriendly and treated us as if we weren't valuable to her as customers. The quality of the food was average both times but the drinks were good. The actual restaurant itself was very inviting. To sit on the terrace and enjoy a drink was really quite nice. The hygiene and condition of the women's bathroom was dismal and quite off-putting. Alex really benefits from its location. I have the impression that the service is a hit or miss situation.
Great restaurant with decent prices and excellent menu. The location is right at the start or end of the main shopping street in Wiesbaden. The staff is friendly and after ordering the food gets served pretty quick. If you decide to go I recommend the Jalapeno-Chicken-Ciabatta sandwich.

Die Bedienung ist zwar nett, die Lage ist gut und das Ambiente ist brisant. Jedoch muss ich leider bemängeln, dass der Kaffe dort einfach scheuslich ist. Nachdem ich schon dreimal von 3 verschiedenen Kaffesorten entäuscht wurde, trinke ich da nur noch Tee. Ich werde da immer von meinem Kumpel gezwungen da hinzugehen, da er totall auf weiße heiße Schokolade steht und es am Alex relativ preiswert angeboten wird. Ansonsten würde ich nie dahin gehen, stattdessen lieber zu den anderen alternativen nebenan ;)
