Rosso

Really enjoyed my meal but I'd like to focus on their wine list. They have a couple of great examples of Swiss bio natural wine that were well understood by the waiter and much appreciated by me. The ambiance is industrial cool and the lighting is dark. Just the ticket after a hectic day in Zurich. Our waiter really added to a fun night. Don't believe all the negative comments about the wait staff, it's data dependent.
The mixed starter was great! The pizza was good, but very thin and crisp (think Flammkuchen). I prefer it slightly thicker. The toilets were full of graffiti.
2 CHF was added to one of the pizzas for no reason. Check your bill against the menu when you are settling up. I didn't detect any of the bad service I saw written about here. Staff were attentive but not cloying. My pizza was quickly delivered, thing and crispy. Pretty salty, but hey, that's Switzerland. Decor is fantastic - roughly renovated industrial chic - big fan - and nicely consistent with Freitag just round the corner. Open fire in the winter is a lovely addition.
Postindustrial interior, delicious pizza and friendly service.
Rosso is one of my favourite Pizzerie in Zurich. The environment is post-industrial: it sits right behind the Helsinky club, in what I guess was an old warehouse or factory. The Pizza is decent for italian standards (so pretty good for Switzerland). The waiters I had were always professional if not very outgoing, and the crowd is usually 30-something. Pizza is expensive as you can expect in Zurich, and I was not very impressed by the appetizers. I'd suggest just going for the Pizza and then enjoying the clubs and bars in the area.
