Hands down the best Cafe in the neighborhood, if not the city. The food is amazing, I recommend the vegan blt. Also the carrot cake is great. Coffee is great and the smoothies are delicious. Vibe is good and music is always conducive to getting work done--also a chill place to relax, with chess, and live music every night at 9 pm by donation.
Located in a basement in a less than salubrious stretch of Avenue du Parc (don't let that put you off), Resonance is a delightful place, cafe by day, jazz bar by evening. The atmosphere is wonderful, the coffee is great and there's vegan food served all day long.
Although it's in a basement, Resonance is very spacious, with lots of seating options. It's very laptop friendly, with lots of power outlets and free wifi, the sort of place you can easily spend all day in.
Open until from noon until midnight (and from 10am for brunch at the weekend) there's live jazz every evening from nine o'clock onwards. The music is free, but donations are encouraged.
Friendly atmosphere. The best of both my worlds: excellent vegan fare and jazz all in one place.
