Leave your taste at home!!! I ordered a Long Island Iced Tea cocktail which was such a poor mix that I couldn't even drink it, and asked for a soft drink instead I told them to take the attempted cocktail away as it was undrinkable. My husband, a former bartender, pointed out that the drink should have been made in a much larger glass for the correct mix. It gets better... I ordered simple fish and chips and asked for an extra thimbleful of tartar sauce. (NOTE: One should always be leery when a restaurant serves the salad and tartar sauce in tiny, thimble-sized containers on the side...) The bill came, an not only was there a charge for the 'cocktail', but a charge for an extra 99 cents for the extra thimble of tartar sauce!!! When my husband went to pay, the manager/owner asked how we had enjoyed our meal. My husband said that he wasn't very happy as the cocktail which was served to me was so awful I couldn't drink it, and yet it was still on the bill, and therefore we wouldn't be back. The manager/owner asked if my husband had never made a mistake, and then continued on to say "Good. I'm glad you're not coming back!" My husband asked if he was attempting to intimidate him, and the owner/manager wimped out and said, no...he was just standing there... What my husband should have said was that yes; we'd made a mistake in going there in the first place. Yes, mistakes can happen - it's all in the way you deal with them that either keeps your customers coming back, or telling everyone they know what a horrible experience they had!!
