The Judge & Jester
Reviews
Excellent food. Usually come on half-price wing night but have also had the burgers. The fries are also quite good. We really do come for the wings though - large, well deep-friend, and about 6 per order. The Jester sauce is the best. Staff is always friendly and efficient. Rolling rock specials on wing night as well. Authentic pub atmosphere - would like to try this place on a game night or trivia night (Tuesdays). Sometimes the seating can be a little cramped but I think that adds to the atmosphere. My rating is 4 stars because I find the menu a little pricey.
We usually go to Judge & Jester once in the blue moon, even though we’re locals, live 2 minutes away and dine out quite often. Every time we go back there, I’m reminded why we don’t go there more often in the first place. I’ve ordered Butter Chicken (the newest addition to their menu) and chicken wings. 1. Butter Chicken: Never again! Does not resemble Butter Chicken even remotely. Loaded with huge chunks of onions- twice as many onions as the chicken (tested like a curry-onion stew). It was served with grilled pita bread -the cheapest and the worst-tasting kind you can buy in the grocery store. Almost $17 bucks! Wouldn’t eat it again even if they paid ME twice as much. 2. Chicken wings: Ordered 1lb, the plate came with 6(!!!) wings + 2 carrot & 2 celery sticks. Wings were S-M size at best – no way I would believe that it was 1lb (not even if you add the sauce and celery/carrots). Almost $12 , If my math serves me right, that’s pretty much $2 per wing?! Thievery! Taste was decent, I would rate it 3.5 out of 5, but definitely not as good as Teddy’s wings. 3. No complaints about service – it was neither bad nor outstanding. Waitress was very nice. I have nothing against the place, but it’s just not a good value for your dollar- even the pub-grab is overpriced (but at least addible!).
Worst restaurant experience of my life. The food was so overpriced and not resembling anything of that quality. The fast food place across the street produces better burgers and sandwiches for literally half the cost. The waitress was not pleasant, we were charged extra on so many little things like toppings and gravy that the cost of those alone was a meal in itself. An alcoholic drink (Amaretto on the rocks) was unbelievably overpriced, and the gravy and fries just straight up sucked. A burger, a sandwich, and some nachos for an appetizer came to $72.00 including a modest tip. Save your money, you could easily find a nicer and cheaper pub elsewhere. P.S. I don't know about my friends sandwich, but the burger was overcooked and dry.
Good atmosphere, good service, good food. All good signs. Will definitely visit again
I met Morgan freeman at your restaurant so five stars O_o
