Bridge Street Cafe

A neat mix of townsfolk, hipsters, and students. Good food, but go early for lunch if you're in a rush. If you're not, hang out and people-or dog-watch. Come as you are, like most of Sackville. Outside terrace is lovely as long as there isn't a wind. Saturday mornings cafe becomes the market, so don't expect an inside table as there are none.

Instantly I love this place because it has free wi-fi. Staff are always super friendly, and they have a chess board you can use. And a book shelf where it's sort of a "take-a-book-leave-a-book" (interesting system). Also, sofa and phone booth with working payphone. Sounds like a lot for a coffee shop huh? But wait! There's more! They usually play awesome music and Thursday nights are open mike nights! (Here is a secret though! Everyone says they have great hot chocolate, and it does taste awesome! but do you want to know the dirty secret? It's just microwaved chocolate milk with whipped cream on top! I'm not complaining though, best recipe for hot chocolate I've seen so far)

Way overpriced for what it is, but they get away with it because it is the only cafe off-campus. Too hot when it is warm out, no air con or fans, it gets uncomfortable just waiting for a drink. Great food and a good variety of drinks though, just not comfortable.

I work here, so I'm biased, but I was a regular for years before getting a job here. Everything in the review below is accurate EXCEPT the hot chocolate. We do NOT microwave the chocolate milk. We steam it using the high-pressure steaming wand on the espresso machine, much like you would steam milk for lattes. Microwaving milk is disgusting.
