Chop Steakhouse & Bar

Horrible food quality for the price at which it is sold and extremely small serving sizes. This place is near a hotel and the airport so it's understandable that their main customers are businessmen and other travelers who probably have no intention of returning to Winnipeg very often, people who don't carry spending a little extra money for a one time visit. Service was alright but overall a horrible restaurant I would not recommend it to anyone. You can get much better quality stakes at other steakhouses and at a lower price.

I was only there for a drink in the bar, so I cannot comment on the food. They have a good selection of fine whisky and other spirits (several single malts >15 years old), but you pay through the nose for it, way higher prices than necessary, and each drink is measured at only 1 oz. Most places selling old single malts are more generous, in my experience. They have a decent selection of beer on tap, but again, it's expensive, and their "pints" are less than 14 oz., rather than the standard 16-18 oz. - this is very uncommon, and it screams "cheap" to me. The decor is tasteful and classy, though the big televisions showing various sporting events on every wall cheapen the experience quite a bit. In the future, if I wanted to spend that kind of money on a good drink, I would do it elsewhere.

Excellent food and service, treated to a private room for my mother's 60th. Look forward to going back again. Excellent portions for the price.
