I've been going to the Gasthaus for as long as long as I can remember with my family. Mostly for special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries. The food is amazing and might be on the large seize, but you can always get that packaged for later. Wonderful atmosphere and great staff, as friendly as one can be. I'd recommend the Gasthaus for anyone any time of the year! You really feel like you're in a charming old town in Germany.
I've been to a lot of german restaurants all over western canada, but this is the best and most authentic one. Service has always been excellent.
I had called to make a reservation the night before we were going to the Gasthaus in Peachland. After driving for 30 minutes since we don't live in Peachland we arrived & they couldn't find our reservation. They were extremely rude and never once apologized for what had happened. They just tried to make us feel like we were causing them some problems. The decor was terrible and I would not call any part of my experience fine dining. All they had to do was have a little customer service and say they were sorry for not finding our reservation. You never accuse the customer of being wrong or making a mistake. We chose not to eat there because I figured if they make you feel that way before you even get to sit down then I don't want to be there. We left and went to a real fine dining restaurant and had an excellent evening with servers that were trained on how to treat people. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Just awful !
Food is great. They let us bring our dog if it was in a carry on. I recommend the ham knuckle
