Westlock Inn

Service in the lounge/VLT room was terrible. Sat for half hour with dirty plates and empty cups, while watching the waitress stand around and gossip with the other waitress. When we finally waved her across the room for service, she decided that we were being rude with that motion and refused to serve us! We should never have had to flag her over for service in the first place! Will never be back, and will go out of my way to make sure everyone I know feels the same way!

The hotel was fine. Comfortable room, good price. The restaurant (Inn Cafe), not good. Pretty standard in terms of food quality for dinner, but completely indifferent staff and breakfast is pretty mediocre. When the sign says "Please wait to be seated," they mean wait until they are finished a few more cutlery rolls and an aimless lap of the room before they show you to one of the many empty tables. I think if I had waited long enough I might have gotten a coffee refill, but I was finished my food and I actually had things to do. I'd stay in the hotel again, but I'd find somewhere else to eat.

Everything you'd expect from your average hotel. Service was fine, room was fine. I ordered a beef dip from the restaurant, a little lacking for the price, but the food was fine. They also have a buffet and a higher (priced)end restaurant. The only thing that bothered me was the Internet (WiFi). My expectations for hotel internet are never very high. However, at Westlock Inn it's completely useless. Dont expect to get anything done if you have work to do or simply just want to watch a YouTube video. Ended up having to tether to my phones data connection to even use skype. I drive for a living, and I use alot of data on my phone streaming audio (sirius/podcasts), so when I need to stay at a hotel, it would be nice to save my data and be able to use WiFi. This is important for me, that's why I can only rate Westlock Inn as 'okay' others may not value WiFi so high, if you're that person, it's a great hotel for the price ($109 walk-in).

The buffets at this establishment are something magical. affordable all 4 star or better food at 2 star prices. best food you can get outside of Edmonton at prices you can bring a date to.

We checked in on December 24, 2013, without having a reservation. The receptionist was courteous and helpful beyond the call of duty which made us feel truly welcome. Upon learning that my daughter liked to swim, he made sure we got a room just beside the pool. The room is very affordable, clean and bright and there is nothing lacking. It has been the best motel experience that I can remember over many years of hotel hopping. 100% recommended.
