I have just spent 2 weeks at Mermaid, I found there higene some what lacking, cats and dogs walking through eating areas, cat food on plates in eating areas, tables all sticky from not wiped down and chips on the floor for days. Showers not cleaned in rooms. Its just a flop house.
Was in dampier for the week. Had dinner at the mermaid three times. Meals were huge, price was fine and the service was great. We had dinner one night in the beergarden overlooking the harbour and I got to watch my afl at the same time, the hotel also picked us up from the caravan park and dropped me home later. Can't say enough about the place great country hotel by the ocean and staff went out of their way to help us out.
One of the most over-priced hotels in WA. But unfortunately they have a monopoly on the area so their is no other choice.
What a place that is !
